MOON YOUNG HEE, SS10

Staff

Korean designer Moon Young Hee is no newbie. Once again for Spring Summer 2010, the veteran stuck to her vision of ethereal, deconstructed pieces, this time mixing in men’s shirting stripes with sheer organza. Continue…

Bee-Shyuan Chang

Some of the best fashion looks we’ve seen tend to have a bit of the classic to balance out the edgy. As it turns out so it goes for designer collaborations. Classic French shoemaker J.M. Weston has teamed with the likes of André, Kitsuné, Colette, Olivier Zahm, Olympia Le Tan, Joséphine de la Baume, The Cazals and Agathe Snow. DOLCE & GABBANA SPRING SUMMER 2010

Bee-Shyuan Chang

We gave you a sneak preview of the Dolce & Gabbana show earlier last week and this past weekend we had a chance to catch the real glamorous thing. The Brits were in full force in front row with PIxie Geldof (looking as natty as ever) and Daisy Lowe holding court. The collection was appropriately rock and roll, but with references to the designers’ much beloved Sicily and some Spanish flavor as well. The show ranged from tailored mannish suits to the more coquettish looks with corsets and like Prada, showing bare legs (looks like Lady Gaga got her no pants trend wish). Still there was something sultry and smoking that tied the looks together and that is the whole Dolce & Gabbana point, afterall. Continue…

A new shopping option is now available for stylish yet thrifty men. INA, the well-known designer consignment store, is expanding its INA Men digs in Nolita. The launch party is tomorrow evening. Happy shopping! Ina Men 19 Prince St (212) 334-2210

VERSACE SS10 – BRINGING SEXY BACK

Bee-Shyuan Chang

Well we’re not sure it ever went anywhere for the house of Versace, but sexy was definitely in season for Spring Summer 2010. Check out this glam video of backstage and the runway. The girls were out in full force – Natasha, Freja, Isabeli, Lily… you get the drift. It reminded us of just how beautiful models can be. Continue…

MOSCHINO, FENDI, SPRING SUMMER 2010

Chris Peake

It’s very possible that Moschino had a morale and creativity boost from Mrs. O (aka Michelle Obama). The First Lady has been seen wearing more than one cheeky and stylish skirt suit by the Italian label. Which may explain why Moschino’s Spring Summer 2010 show was both a reaffirmation of the label’s exuberant yet fashionable humor – does any other label own the cherry print? — yet was able to turn its “look” into something more classic as well. BOTTEGA VENETA, SPRING SUMMER 2010

Chris Peake

Tomas Maier has the I’m-so-rich-I-can-flaunt-it-discreetly look down pat. For Spring Summer 2010, Maier’s collection for Bottega Veneta were full of luxurious materials and women-friendly silhouettes — smart move considering Bottega’s clientele is usually of the age that doesn’t want to show too much skin. There were lovely wrap tops (some with kimono sleeves) and low-cut, slouchy suits featuring double-breasted blazers. Maier also played with sheer materials and little jolts of color through a mostly white and taupe collection– although he did close the show with several floor-length stunners in eye-catching brights.  Oh and how could we forget: there were plenty of killer accessories, particularly in simple shapes and exotic skins, to lust over.
