Free Music – SONG OF THE DAY FROM To Kill a Petty Bourgeoisie

“Lovers & Liars” puts me in a dark and almost creepy trance every time I listen to it; it is that evil, obscure and awesome over and over again. It reminds me of a favorite Peanuts cartoon of mine where Lucy puts on a record and Charlie goes on and on about how depressed the song makes him and then the final frame is Charlie pleading her to put it on again. This track and this band do not depress me but they definitely dim the mood and put me in a peculiar place. And I can’t get enough of it either.

Enjoy this new tunes from The Morning Benders. I first heard it on the F train – some school kids got on in the Lower East Side dressed like perfect mid-80′s hip-hoppers. I watched them clowning around and terrorizing each other all the while blasting “Promises” on my head phones – it was the perfect sound track.  Now this song makes me want to cause trouble.  Continue…

Ok, so this isn’t the first time we’ve given you free music from Taken by Trees. But, as our favorite Stockholm based recording artist keeps giving up free music, we feel its our duty to pass it on to you. Taken by Trees (née Victoria Bergsman) has a long history of recording with top indie groups and amazing projects. Her latest album East of Eden is no disappointment to her rich history. When I listen to Taken by Trees I can imagine walking through yellow and red desert cliffs smelling nothing but night-blooming Jasmin and far off campfires. Continue…
