HANNAH HOLMAN IN APRIL 2010 RUSSH MAGAZINE

Chris Peake

Hannah Holman (Elite) is the sweet Utah girl who shot to fame on the heels of another Utah blonde stunner, Ali Stephens (something in the water there?). Holman made it big with her sweet but sassy Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign, but the girl has an edginess to her too. Alexander Wang thought so and signed Holman on as the face of the downtown brand this year. All of which is why we love her cover and spread for Russh magazine’s April issue. Who knew a teen  from Utah could keep on surprising us with turns from innocent to edgy. Continue…

DAZED AND CONFUSED VIDEO

Chris Peake

Its never to late (or early) to post a great new video. One of our favorite websites dazeddigital.com, the online home for Britian’s Dazed and Confused magazine, released this video featuring Next Model‘s, British rising star Imogen Morris-Clark. Previously Imogen graced the runways for top designers from New York to Paris, and we love seeing her in this new video. Continue…

MODEL TURNED ACTRESS

NATALIA VODIANOVA AS MEDUSA IN ‘CLASH OF THE TITANS’

Staff

Models turned actresses isn’t a terribly new thing – think Amber Valletta and Liya Kebede’s new turn in Desert Flower. Now pouty-lipped, doll-faced Natalia Vodianova is taking a turn as Medusa in the upcoming flick Clash of the Titans. It could be that models are used to getting made up but is it just us or have many a mannequin silver screen turn been helped along by an obscene amount of “special effects”? Case in point: Rebecca Romijin as that blue thing, Mystique, for X-Men. Compare notes with a peek of Natalia’s performance in this trailer. Continue…

Chris Peake

Our friends at Magazine 25 sent over this great backstage music-video-style fashion shoot featuring featuring Anja Rubik, Karlie Kloss, Abbey Lee, Karmen Pedaru, Valerija and Shu-Pei Qin. Watch “defragmentation of beauty” below. Continue…

SURFER CAIO VAZ’S SWEET SIXTEEN

Chris Peake

We’d all be, er, hanging loose, if we looked like Caio Vaz. The Billabong-sponsored surfer graced the pages of Vogue Brasil when he was just a baby-faced 13-year old. Now Vaz is the ripe old age of sweet 16 — with an i-D cover in 2007 along the way. We expect to see a lot more of the pro surfer, well, at least in the killer wave off-season. Continue…

Natasa Vojnovic for H&M Spring Summer 2010

Chris Peake

If we’re talking model careers here, Natasa Vojnovic has been around the block. The cool Serbian beauty has landed everything from Chanel accessories campaigns to French Vogue editorials since debuting on the international scene in 1999. Vojnovic is apparently still going strong. She fronts H&M’s spring summer 2010 magazine looking svelte as ever. Continue…

Elite’s Caroline Brasch Nielsen Takes Paris By Storm

Chris Peake

With curves officially back in demand — well at least Marc Jacob’s Louis Vuitton and Prada gave their say so — there’s a new sort of model recruiting going on. Rather than the ultra-skinny Eastern European girls, scouting has headed west and north, think the Netherlands and Scandinavia. Danish newcomer Caroline Brasch Nielsen is just that kind of model with a bit more meat on her bones (hey, it’s all relative). Nielsen is coming off a stellar fall 2010 Paris season, as in the opener slot for Valentino and walking for Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga and YSL. Surely with that luxury list, we’ll be seeing more of Nielsen to come. Continue…

Vogue Hommes Japan Brings On the Color

Bee-Shyuan Chang

We’ve had a week long of spring-like sunshine in NYC. So if a little Friday rain has gotten you down, then take some end of the week relief in this color-saturated Vogue Hommes Japan Issue 4 shoot by lensman Mariano Vivanco. Styled by the enigmatic Nicola Formichetti, who also worked with Hedi Slimane for the mag’s cover shot, the vibrant spread titled “The Nomad of the Golden Sand” has a bit of SoCal surfer imbibed with avant-garde European dressing. (It helps certainly that model Alejandro Rodriguez of Ford Models has that golden boy feel.) It’s just the kind of contradicting mix to keep fashion interesting. Continue…

Coco Rocha for Rimmel London Commercial

Chris Peake

Coco Rocha had a runway resurgence for the Paris fall 2010 shows, but the girl who proudly wears a size 4 shows a little meat on the bones bodes well for those coveted beauty contracts. Take this new commercial for Rimmel London where Coco mugs for the line’s Match Perfection foundation. Along with Rocha as star, we’d also give the brand a beauty point for a bit of model diversity too. Continue…

Abbey Lee Kershaw for Karl Lagerfeld Spring 2010

Chris Peake

Now that Paris Fashion Week is over, the style crowd gets to rest their high heels for…..just a few seconds. Fashion marches on and campaigns are as coveted as ever. Abbey Lee Kershaw rocks the Karl Lagerfeld Spring 2010 campaign with his male Adonis of the moment Baptiste Giabiconi. And the photog? Kaiser Karl himself, naturally. Continue…
