He’s better known for his foray in the high-end world of haute couture and his time as a jewelry designer for Dior, but Alexis Mabille isn’t settling for only womenswear. At his first menswear debut for Paris Men’s Fashion Week Spring 2010 (along with a splashy party with Club Sandwich), Mabille added some luxury options for the modern day dandies.
There were rich Chinese brocade silks cut into pants and suits and relaxed baggy trousers best made for the lounging life. The part that Mabille has truly nailed down is an element of off-the-cuff luxury that is fairly exuded from the ultra-wealthy. Printed suits-that might pass for eccentricity- were paired with sneakers for example. While the price point comes dearly, we can’t fault him. At the very least, he makes us look worth it.
