The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that Anna Wintour is beratingrecommending France support its young designers. Well, perhaps if we give a bit of press where credit is due to budding French talent, that could help too. We’ve been championing couturier Alexandre Vauthier from his limited edition collaboration with the Le Bon Marche to clothing Rihanna in his form-fitting looks. His couture collection lined up along the same themes with a modern sensibility rather than retro musings. While under-the-radar couture designer, Jantaminiau played with rich textiles in a sci-fi take on the medieval maiden. Here’s to couture’s future.
