Go Girl

Jennifer Hudson is ready. The Dreamgirls star is planning to go public again, just months after the gruesome murder of her mother, brother and nephew allegedly at the hands of her brother-in-law, William Balfour. And while Balfour has pleaded not guilty to the charges, Jennifer is ready to step back into the public eye with two very high-profile performances. First, the singer will deliver the National Anthem at the Super Bowl in Tampa on Feb. 1 before belting out tunes at the Grammy Awards 5 days later. These will be her first times back on stage since the murders. So much has happened but shes ready, a source reveals. It’s a new year. She’s excited about performing again. She knew it was time.

And The Winner Is

So here we are, smack in the middle of awards season. And now the crème de la crème of the shows has announced the nominees the Oscar awards! And while we wont bore you with details of who is up for lighting or set design (sorry, lighting and set people!) there are some notable noms. Brad Pitt’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button leads with 13 nods, including one for the leading man. But he will be up against the late great Heath Ledger, who nabbed the Golden Globe win, posthumously. And there may be some drama in
the Jolie-Pitt household on Oscar night, since Angie is also up for an award, for her turn in The Changeling. Also riding high is the indie fave Slumdog Millionaire, which landed itself 10 nominations, including Best
Picture.
