Bad Girl
It looks like Britney Spears won’t be making any of her own decisions for quite a while longer. The 26-year old singer will have to answer to her dad Jamie, who has been named the permanent conservator over her affairs. Papa Spears was first given that job after Brit suffered from a series of mental breakdowns earlier this year, but originally the deal was to end on December 31. No such luck! The conservatorship is necessary and appropriate for the complexity of financial and business entities and her being susceptible to undue influence, the court commissioner said on Tuesday. And while Britney being under the rule of her daddy makes it hard for her to go out and live her life, there is an upside it will help her regain custody of her two kids, Jayden James and Sean Preston. Stay tuned.
The Bitch Is Back
Things are about to get interesting again at Melrose Place. Insiders reveal that a remake of the hit 90′s TV show, which made Andrew Shue, Marcia Cross and Courteney Thorne Smith big stars, is in the works, and that it will be chock full of the feuds and scandals that made it so popular. As of now, the CW network (the home of the new 90210 revival) is planning for Melrose 2.0 to air in the coming fall season. All we need now is for Heather Locklear to agree to come back as the ultimate TV bitch Amanda Woodward.
Influential
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen can now add author to the list of things they have accomplished in their short lives. The 22-year old multi-millionaires were on hand at NYC’s Barnes & Nobles bookstore in Union Square yesterday to unveil their new over-priced coffee table tome, Influence, which includes interviews of the people who have had an impact on their lives and careers. (think Karl Lagerfeld, Diane Von Furstenberg and Lauren Hutton.) But the girls didn’t make it easy for fans to like them. Olsen lovers who came to the signing were told they couldn’t take pictures and had to receive their books in silence, not asking MK or A any questions. Um, okay.
