The Mountain Goats started when John Darnielle decided to put some of his poetry to work and make music. As ambitions of becoming a full time poet graduated to being a musician, John never forgot his love of words. The Mountain Goats have a nostalgic sound that tell a story – and they have been doing it a long time. Todays song of the day is off their 5th album, The Life of the World to Come, where all the songs are named from the bible, the granddaddy of story telling.
