To celebrate the release of her ‘Self-Taught Learner EP’, Brooklyn-based rocker Lissy Trullie will perform at Mercury Lounge on February 11th-a show you won’t want to miss. The EP showcases Trullie’s catchy garage-rock vibe with a touch of Chrissie Hynde and dash of Beautiful South-style pop. Currently on tour with fellow-buzz act The Virgins, Trullie’s girl-about-downtown persona (she’s a regular at Beatrice) has seen a growing fan base among New York’s hipster elite, thanks in part to collaborations with friends such as Adam Green. Her straightforward stripped-back music style and mildly- contrived could-care-less androgynous look resulted in an invitation to perform in San Francisco at the opening of ‘Andy Warhol Live’ at the DeYoung Museum on February 20, an exhibition that will feature major Warhol silkscreen paintings, album covers, illustrations, and photographs. See her while there’s a chance she’ll remember your name.
‘Self-Taught Learner’ comes out February 17 on American Myth Records.
